Fireworks in a jar!

Here is a project we did a while back that would be perfect for getting your kids talking about and excited about the 4th! Really great for the little toddlers and preschoolers but big kids can have fun with it too!

Here are the links to the blogs that are doing the same.

here and here.

I have this little "light box" that I drag out for some of C and I's sensory play. All it is is a flat rubbermade container turned upside down. We cut a hole out of the side to thread some Chrismas lights through it and voila! You don't have to have one to do this you table is just fine.

All this is is oil and water and food color. You pour the water in first then the oil (vegetable oil is fine)

I save different squirt bottles and other glass containers and let C go to town.

She played with the oil water food color mixture for an hour. I just keept dumping things out and adding more reusing some of it. We ended up adding vinager to the project. We had fun experimenting.
It did get a bit messy but it wasn't to bad.

We poured some of it out on top of the light box and it kinda held togeather and she moved it around with her fingers.

I would defiantly do it again!!

Don't forget to click on the top mommy bloggers button at the upper right hand corner of the screen that's all you have to do and it automatically gives me a vote :)
