Fresh squeezed lemonade
C loves to make lemonade from scratch with me. She helps roll the lemons, peel the stickers off and squeeze the juice out.
And enjoy!
And of course taste test it all!
Goofy kid ;)
So I thought I would share our "recipe" .
C's favorite lemonade
7 lemons (2 cups of lemon juice)
1 cup of sugar (add more to taste ;)
A gallon jar
Boil the sugar and about 4 cups of water. The point is to just get the sugar dissolved. Add the sugar water and strained lemon juice to your jug. Fill the rest of the jug up with cold water tasting it along the way, so as not to water it down to much.
I find every batch is different depending on how much juice the lemons give. If you need a little more sugar just add it to your sauce pan with some more water.

Dreamsicle play dough
Today we are making some dreamsicle scented play dough ! It's really easy to make and smells AMAZING!!! (Glitter optional ;)
If your not familiar with a dreamsicle or creamsicle it's a orange and vanilla Popsicle. I actually am not a fan but they smell wonderful.
So here is our recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of salt
- 1 cup of water
- 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 tablespoon of oil
- 4 drops of orange oil
- Teaspoon of vanilla
Directions:
- Mix the ingredients in a small sauce pan
- stir well.
- Cook on medium heat
- As soon as it starts to form a ball pull it off the heat
Kneed it while its still warm and have fun!
We also made cherry lemon
Doesn't smell as good but it's still lovely. So get creative with play dough scents. C loves it she's not one to eat play dough
But beware what you are putting in it if you have a child that puts things in there mouths. Especially since it smells so good!!!

Skeleton craft and old book review
I have to admit this would be more appropriate for Halloween but C came and across this Peanuts encyclopedia on her shelf. That has sparked many questions about her bones. She recently has been walking around asking us to feel her bones lol crazy kid. She bends over and shows us her back bone and makes us touch it >.<
I have to say not all of the information is up to date in them but they are cute and you can pull some good things out of them. And heck she is 3 she can't read just yet ;) we mainly look at the pictures while I explain a little bit.
As in here is a picture of what our bones look like. Your bones are under your skin. Without your bones you couldn't walk around ext. .. You get the picture.
I cut some "bones" out of construction paper. Got out the glue.
That's about it I just handed her a "pile of bones" and she did the rest.
She had fun with this one.
I Don't think he is going anyplace like that but its cute. Certainly going to revisit this one around Halloween.
I'm having a huge sale over at my etsy shop please come and take a look.

Bathroom counter into sewing table with chalk board
My husband made a great find the other day at a rummage sale. It was a bathroom counter and what looked to be a cabinet but when you pulled open the door it was a old wooden hamper. Perfect for storing bolts of fabric!!!
We have spent the last couple of days transforming it.
Here it is not much to look at...
My husband and C helped me scrub it down and sand it.
We tore out the yucky shelf paper and sanded it and gave it a fresh coat of paint.
The rummage sale also had an old shelf we decided to paint,to go with it. C helped daddy get the shelf in.
She thinks the leveler is amazing.
As always she enjoyed helping daddy. What kid doesn't like to use "big people tools"?
Here it is in the space. C likes the chalk board although it will buy me no extra sewing time. :/ she just randomly scribbles on it. I think I like more than her.
This is my old sewing space cute but much more cramped.
The storage space is so much better than my last set up.
Sew that's it! I'm thrilled with it but the rest of my house is a neglected MESS!! Time to focus on the other rooms :(

If you give a mouse a cookie. Book and counting lesson.
C and I just love this book we read it at least once a week. It's about this little mouse that is offered a cookie by a little boy. The little boy is then driven to exhaustion with the requests of this sweet, cute, demanding little mouse. I have to say I really relate to the little boy... I have a demanding little mouse of my own!!!
"If you give a mouse a cookie... He's probably going to need a glass of milk to go with it"
See the resemblance is uncanny ;)
We are working on numbers again this week. Here is our counting craft to go along with the book.
I had a bunch of left over felt scraps but you could use construction paper. I just cut brown cookies and little black chocolate chips. C's job was to get the right amount of chocolate chips on the cookies.
She had fun with it we saved them to put in her play oven so she could "bake" her cookies later ;)

De shed your cat I'm 5 mins
Get this much hair out of your cat (or dog) in 5 mins without shaving them.
That's it no other trick you just stroke it over and over the cat. Pulling out the hair after each stroke.
You need a cat
And a clipper razor. Not the clipper you use it unattached like a brush or a shedding blade.
You need any size blade from 15-45
45 is the best but I couldn't find mine.
This is really what I use when I groomed in the salon. You can order one online from www.petedge.com or go to your local petsmart or petco and pick one up.
Watch out your pants will look like this O.O
People assume short haired cats shed less WRONG I find the are sometimes worse depending on the cat.
Happy brushing.

Snow play in summer
I know that it is nice and warm outside none of us want to think of the snow coming back especially not our Mini Pirate!
He obviously was disgusted with it over the winter.
C and I just won't tell him about our Peppa pig "snow" adventure.
We used the snow cone maker and put the shaved ice in a baking dish. C ate some and had so much fun using her car track to slide her toys down into the snowy bank bellow!
Ignorance is bliss shhh he will never know a thing!
Stay cool!

Cherry tree craft and lesson.
Today we are working with Cherries. I love having a short video clip if I can to get C excited about whatever we are learning about. Today I found a video on a Professional Cherry picker! C thought it was sooo cool how 100's of Cherries fell from the tree into this truck. We talked about how they got washed up and then went on the the factory and store where we got ours.
And how people can pick them by hand
Then we checked them out!
I made a counting paper and we counted them out up to five since we are working on numbers.
An ofcourse we ate a few!!! This batch was a little sour but good!
Then C painted a cherry tree with glitter paint finger prints and a marker.
That's it pretty simple but just another way to keep her excited about counting exercises.
I would love to find a place to go picking around here.
